Holly Health, the award-winning digital health app is working with Social Sense to support its expansion across the North West as part of an ambitious plan to improve health outcomes in the region.
The strategic partnership will enable Holly Health to scale its innovative digital health coaching service throughout the North West, leveraging Social Sense's extensive local networks and expertise in population health and social change.
Digital Health Innovation Meets Local Expertise
Holly Health's digital platform provides personalised coaching that supports users in developing sustainable health habits across nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and mental wellbeing. The platform has already demonstrated significant impact, with users experiencing a 30% reduction in anxiety, 19% improvement in energy levels, and 24% increase in exercise frequency after just eight weeks of use. 72% of users report permanently changed habits following use.
Through this partnership, Social Sense will provide crucial support in engaging with local voluntary organisations, public health teams and primary care commissioners across the North West to integrate Holly Health's solution into existing health, social and active travel pathways.
Grace Gimson, CEO of Holly Health, said: "We're excited to appoint Social Sense as our strategic partner for the North West. Their deep understanding of the local health landscape and impressive track record in behaviour change makes them the ideal organisation to help us scale our impact in the region. Together, we can support thousands more people to develop healthier habits and reduce pressure on local NHS services."
Strengthening Local Health Systems
The collaboration comes at a critical time for the North West, where health inequalities have widened in recent years. Holly Health's platform has been shown to reduce pressure on NHS services, with data indicating that users required 0.22 fewer GP appointments during an eight-week period, with the potential to save 1.4 appointments per user per year.
For patients with specific conditions, the impact is even more significant, with Type 2 diabetes patients experiencing an estimated reduction of 6.5 fewer appointments per year.
Gary Lovatt, CEO of Social Sense, commented: "We're delighted to be working with Holly Health to support their expansion in the North West. Their digital coaching platform perfectly complements our work in behaviour change and community engagement. By combining our local expertise with their innovative technology, we can create a powerful approach to improving health outcomes across our region."
Empowering Communities Through Digital Health
Social Sense will work with Holly Health to ensure the platform reaches those who need it most, including offering solutions to those digitally excluded or not typically engaged in mainstream services.
Holly Health's platform is already being used by over 60,000 people across more
than 180 NHS primary care partnerships nationwide. This new partnership aims to
support at least 10,000 North West residents in its first year.
